A Little Honesty About the Journey So Far When I first started Rocky Shores Home Inspection, I’ll be honest—I had moments where I questioned myself. Wondered if I was doing things “right.” Wondered if being different was going to cost me. I wrote a book to help people shopping for a home—real, practical things to watch for so they don’t fall in love with a place, spend their hard‑earned money on an inspection, and only then discover the house is a mess. I wanted to give people knowledge before they get their hopes up. Not everyone liked that. One inspector even reached out and told me to burn the book… said I’d never make it… said I was making myself look like an alarmist because “everyone else is busy.” But here’s the thing: I’m not trying to be like everyone else. Rocky Shores was never meant to be a cookie‑cutter inspection company. I don’t rush through houses. I don’t gloss over issues. I don’t disappear after sending a report. I follow up with every single client. I make sure they understand what’s in their report. I make sure they feel confident—not confused—when making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. If that makes me different, good. If that means I’m not on every agent’s list, that’s fine too. The agents who do recommend me know exactly why they do: because I care about their clients as much as they do. And to every client, every agent, every person who’s trusted me so far—thank you.
